Plano, a major manufacturer of fishing tackle boxes, saw an advantage in giving fishermen ready access to the most frequently used tackle without their having to go through the cumbersome procedure of opening the entire box. Innovation was a must.

We created a full-sized opening in the box top and gave it a see-through lid. We designed a special gutter around the lid to channel rain and spray away from the opening. We gave the lid a wider, easy-to-open, one-touch latch. Then we designed the handle to flip completely out of the way. By rethinking the needs of the user, we developed a box that not only provides quick access to the most-used tackle, but that allows easy access to everything in the box, no matter where it is stored.
