Wire-Wrap had manufactured solderless electrical connection tools since the 1960's. However, their tools were difficult to hold, difficult to use, and were prone to mechanical failure. Further, the product line's inconsistent, outdated aesthetics made it difficult for Wire-Wrap to achieve brand identity.
To improve mechanical reliability, we incorporated a superior gear design. To increase accuracy, we invented and patented an operator-adjustable indexing feature. To improve safety and convenience, we developed a patented battery recharging interlock system. To improve usability, we designed the tools to be lightweight and comfortable to hold. To provide Brand recognition, we applied contemporary styling consistently throughout the product line.
